Chrome Balloon Font Makes the Background Part of the Type
Every capital carries a true mirror finish, so it never holds one colour for long. Put a word on deep navy and the strokes turn cold steel. Move the same word onto mint green, and the bellies pick up that green instead. Because the surface reflects rather than prints, each layout ends up with a slightly different alphabet. Naturally that makes the background a real decision here. So the Chrome Balloon Font behaves less like type and more like a prop you light.
A Crimped Weld Runs Round Every Letter
Look along the edge of any capital and the crimp shows immediately. That scalloped ridge copies the heat seal on a real foil balloon, so nothing here reads as drawn. Counters also come out as dark round holes, which keeps A and R legible at small sizes. Meanwhile a thin ribbon curls under some of them. Above all, the highlights land where a photographer would put them. Of course that is what stops the whole set looking like plastic.
