Cracked Right Through, Not Just Textured
The cracks here run all the way through, which is what separates this from a surface effect. Each letter is then a slab of ice broken into irregular plates, with near-black fissures between them. Some plates tilt slightly and catch a different highlight, so the break looks real. Edges chip away in places too, leaving small triangular facets behind. Because the pattern differs on every glyph, repeated letters never look copy-pasted.
Cyan Blue and Hard Shadows
Of course, colour is one strong cyan plus near-black in the gaps, and nothing else. So the letters punch hard even at small sizes, where finer ice fonts turn to mush. Also the heavy blocky shapes give those cracks room to be seen. Meanwhile the dark fissure line does the job an outline normally would. Naturally it holds up on red, yellow, grey or plain black.
