Vintage Gobelin Font Stitches Old Fabric Into Letters

Naturally, every letter is patched together from scraps of faded upholstery cloth. Roses, sprigs, ticking stripes and plain linen all turn up inside one glyph as well. Then a seam runs across wherever two fabrics meet. Because the shapes are padded, they bulge slightly and cast a shadow of their own. So the Vintage Gobelin Font feels sewn rather than set.

A Palette Pulled Straight Out of the Attic

In fact, colours stay soft throughout: dusty teal, faded rose, pale straw and sage. Nothing shouts, since every fabric looks washed a hundred times already. The letterforms underneath are a broad geometric sans, so the patchwork still reads. Numerals, currency signs and punctuation come stitched the same way too. Meanwhile the scalloped edging leaves each glyph with a soft, slightly wobbly outline.

Where the Vintage Gobelin Font Belongs

Of course, a pale hardback shows one letter big enough to count the stitches. Then a magazine cover stacks four short lines and lets the fabric do the styling. There is a white tee as well, plus framed prints along a living-room shelf. In addition, a book spread runs two letters across facing pages, one light and one dark. Craft brands, wedding stationery, homeware and childrens books all suit it naturally.

What Comes in the Vintage Gobelin Font

One OTF file covers the typing, since the patchwork is baked into every glyph. Each glyph also ships as a PNG, cut out of its background and sized for print. Of course, Patch Cloth Font runs far brighter, in rainbow diamond quilting. Fun Textile Font, by contrast, wraps each letter in a single printed cloth.
