A Slab Serif With a Halo of Loose Fibres
Here is a proper slab serif, bracketed feet and all, only wrapped in brown wool fibre. Around every stroke sits a soft halo where stray hairs catch the light. So the edges never quite resolve, and the letters look pressed rather than printed. Colour runs from milky tan at the rim to dark cocoa in the middle. Since the serifs hold their shape, the whole thing still behaves like a real text face.
The Felt Font Feels Warm Before You Read It
Fuzz does something odd to a reader, and it happens before the word registers. Warmth arrives first, then nostalgia, then the actual message. Also brown is a colour almost nobody picks for display type these days. So the Felt Font lands as gentle rather than shouty, even set enormous. Meanwhile that halo hands every headline a quiet glow on dark backgrounds.
