We are often asked about what Handmadefont is. An unusual hobby or a business idea? Handmadefont encompasses both, but this is only a cover of a book.
Handmadefont is something different. Handmadefont isn’t even a lifestyle – it’s the way of thinking. Another form of perception. First you see an object, then you relate to it, and later – that was our approach in the first place – you think about showing others how to gaze at the world from a different perspective.
This is the very concept behind Handmadefont brand that we established in 2008 in Tallinn, Estonia: you can make a font from any material and any object. We started as a group of enthusiasts led by Vladimir and Maksim Loginov and ended up as a recognizable company that worked together with giants like Disney and IBM.
But Handmadefont isn’t ready to rest. New unique typefaces keep enriching the family of fonts made by hand in our website shop where customers may buy everything they want. A new font can be requested as an individual project: we at Handmadefont are always glad to get at a personal order and ready for new collaborations. We also pay a lot of attention to our constant clients for whom we have some special offers.
However, it wouldn’t be 100% right to describe Handmadefont only as a company that produces and sells handcrafted typefaces. We have a more global goal. Recently we have launched a new project – we started to work with graphic designers all around the planet by reselling their creative fonts in our store. There are lots of beautiful typefaces and we would like to share some of them with you.
SunnyNight Font by Paris Koutsikos from Athens, Greece, is a story inside of a story. Each letter is a separate surrealistic tale and a perfect vessel for the boldest ideas. This magical typeface is like reincarnation of a sleeper’s dream in which a traveler goes through hundreds of labyrinths and deserts, visits castles and villages, enjoys the mystique of theatres and circuses. SunnyNight Font is a fantasy brought to life.
3D Chalk Font by Andrea Prina from Turin, Italy, is a chalk typeface based on the chalk texture and filled with the Italian elegancy and vibrant colors that are totally customizable.
Tidy Alphabet Animated Font by Camille Moine, France, is like a geometry or even steampunk symphony: beautiful accuracy is combined with magical and swift movements of the letters. When you use this typeface, you can get a feeling that you are doing a puzzle.
Filyenius Font by Maria Vilenius and LiNan Ye is actually the first font by a contributor we started to sell, that’s why it has a special place in our Handmadefont heart. Colorful typeface strings will refresh any design.
Cactus Font by Samuel Tekunoff, USA, is made of real cactuses! It took the designer several months to grow the whole alphabet up. And the result is astonishing.
There are dozens typefaces and ideas that deserve your attention and Handmadefont is doing its best to explore new horizons in the design field.
